Entry tips & tricks

  • Label each jar with the category, name of marmalade and list of ingredients. You can do this with a label or sticky note. PLEASE DO NOT put your name on the label. Your jar will be numbered when you send it in to be judged.

  • Use CLEAR glass jars that are between 200g – 500g in size. Jars with patterns are difficult to judge. We won't be super strict if they're a little big. But bear in mind you need to post the jars, which could be expensive.

  • Use sterilised jam jars and fill to the brim.

  • Judges will consider the look, colour, aroma, appearance, consistency and flavour of each jar.

  • Please do not reuse jars and/or lids that have contained pickles. We recommend treating yourself to new jars.

**** THERE IS A PRIZE FOR THE BEST PRESENTATION OF A MARMALADE ENTRY!****

Entry fee

The competition fee is $10 per jar for the Homemade division.

You are welcome to enter multiple times in each category.
