Calling Small Batch Artisans!

It's time to get out your pans, choose your citrus and Go for Gold!

This is a celebration of Australia's wonderful community of marmalade makers and we aim to find Australia's best homemade and artisan marmalades!

In 2024, The Australian Marmalade Awards are thrilled to be re-introducing the popular Artisan Awards. The aim of this competition is to encourage and support artisan producers by showcasing their delicious marmalades!

Do you make your marmalade in small batches using the open pan method? Then we’d love you to enter! The judging is based using the same criteria as the Homemade Category.

We have five categories to test your skills, ranging from the traditional Seville to one for marmalades featuring Australian native fruits and flavours.

1. Seville orange

Must be made using only Seville oranges, sugar, lemon juice and water. The fresher the fruit, the better the marmalade.

2. Grapefruit

Any marmalade that contains grapefruit. This will include 3 or 4 fruit marmalades that contain grapefruit.

3. Any other citrus

For marmalade which does not fit any other category, with one or more kinds of citrus as the primary ingredient. Please make sure to list all your ingredients in the entry form.

4. Native fruits & flavours

Be inspired to create a marmalade using Australian native ingredients. It may be a traditional citrus marmalade enhanced with bush flavours, or made using native citrus such as finger lime.

5. Made with alcohol

Add a touch of something boozy.... Cointreau, Whisky, Gin.... You be the creator!

It's your chance to shine and promote your brand.

Entry details are available on the ARTISAN entry tab.

Artisan winners receive Gold, Silver, Bronze or Highly commended ratings and winners are able to publicise their achievements to promote their business.
